Please read our general Academic Policies below carefully.
Class Schedule
Classes are held from 8:00 am to 3:50 pm Mondays to Fridays. Each subject is 50 minutes in length. Depending on the student’s program, the schedules may vary. In case the classes have been disrupted due to weather or other concerns, makeup classes may be scheduled during evening hours, on Saturdays or even holidays. The semester may also be extended as a result of these events.
Attendance
FIG/International School requires all students to attend all of their classes on time. Although we understand that there are uncontrolled circumstances that may result to absences, excessive absenteeism will definitely result to lowered grades and even administrative actions.
A student may be dismissed from the school if his or her absences exceed 10% of the scheduled classes. Ten consecutive days of absence is already considered a withdrawal from the school.
A student enrolled in any externship program needs to complete the on-the-job training hours outlined in the course description.
Dress Code
It is a requirement for FIG/International School students to dress in appropriate business attire. The student’s handbook outlines additional information regarding the school’s dress code.
Student Conduct
Students should display proper behavior and conduct at all times. Otherwise, sanctions may be imposed. The gravity of such sanctions will depend on the improper conduct committed and may include warning, suspension, and expulsion.
Class Size
The average class size is between 30-36 students but may still vary.
Grade Reports
The grade and progress report of a student will be sent to at the end of every term.
Transcripts
A free copy of the student’s transcript can be provided on request. Additional copies will be $5 each. Official transcripts will not be given to:
- Students with outstanding balance
- Students in default on student loans
- Students who owe refunds on any student financial aid program (federal or state)
Withdrawal
If a student willfully withdraws from a program, a preliminary interview with the program manager is required. An exit interview with the Financial Aid Office will also be necessary.
Additional information regarding withdrawal procedures is outlined in the student’s handbook.
The Official Handbook is the student’s guide on the policies of FIG/International University. It outlines the information in a detailed manner. We urge all of our students to read, understand, and follow the Official Handbook.
